On a sad note, 25-year-old Envic Booysen from Cape Town, Western Cape has been eliminated from Idols SA Season 19 after securing the least amount of votes this week.

Envic gave it his all week in and week out, he is a beast in all respects of the musical world, vocals are a flex, star quality is clear and the talent is ready to take over the charts in South Africa.

But tonight, as his journey comes to an end on Idols South Africa, Envic deserves massive applause as another begins in the music business.

Idols SA 2023 Top 5 Performances

The musical themes this week were; “Gospel Greats” and “Africa Rising”.

Just like in the previous week, each contestant performed twice on an evening filled with soul-stirring melodies of Gospel greats and the richness of African music.

During the first half of the evening, the Top 5 contestants delved into the rich repertoire of Gospel greats by performing songs under the theme “Gospel Greats”.

During the second half of the live show this evening, the contestants performed songs dedicated to celebrating the vibrant and diverse sounds of the African continent under the theme “Africa Rising”.

Thabo

For his first performance of the evening, Thabo was moving like a spirit took over when he stepped on stage, and he kept that going by delivering a soul-stirring performance of “Wafika” with Dr Tumi.

Thabo recently indicated that he intends to sing any genre the people want him to sing and after this moving rendition of Dr Tumi’s song, he might want to add gospel to that list.

For his second live performance of the evening, Thabo stepped into his Afrobeats and pop era by performing “Peru” by Fireboy DML and Ed Sheeran.

Thabo has been stepping onto the Idols SA live stage and leaving jaws on the floor after pouring his heart out with each performance, and with this rendition of “Peru”, Thabo further proved that you can give him anything and he will devour.

Princess

For her first performance of the evening, Princess’ anointing had all the oil when she touched the highest octaves for her performance of “Ungukuphila” with Xolly Mncwango.

Nobody can’t say their spirit was not moved as Princess unleashed the beast inside once again while delivering a sermon with Xolly Mncwango in the form of her beautiful song.

For her second live performance of the evening, Princess stepped into her African giant zone and channeled the superpower in her once again as she performed “For My Hand” by Burna Boy featuring Ed Sheeran.

Niikiey

For her first live performance of the evening, Niikiey got everyone on their praise and worship as she performed “Ngena Noah” with Betusile, coming through with her soothing vocals that took everyone’s breath away.

For her second performance of the evening, Niikiey served West African flavour with a beautiful fusion of Afrobeats and House music as she performed “Maradona” by Niniola.

Faith

For his first live performance of the night, Faith’s spirit of praising and the sincerity of his voice was a match made in musical heaven as he took the audience to church and touched many hearts as he performed “Healing Power” with Xolly Mncwango.

For his second performance of the night, Faith took on the Nigerian vibe and added his unique touch and charm from Mzansi.

Never one to shy away from a challenge, Faith aced yet another genre while continuing to show us his range by performing “In My Maserati” by Olakira.

Nkosi

For his first performance of the night, Nkosi unleashed a soft, healing vibe with pure talent and a distinct ability to ace a praise and worship song by performing “Nomathemba” with Betusile.

For his second live performance of the night, Nkosi was at home with the breezy West African sound.

Right up his alley of being ever so mellow and focusing on what moves the audience, Nkosi felt right at home as he stepped into a different scape and left us wanting more after his smooth rendition of “People” by Libianca.
