“My brother was diagnosed with autism when he was three years old. We didn’t know how to help him. He didn’t know what he needed help with. The music became kind of a tool for that.”

Judge Amy Shark praised Jake for his wonderful performance by saying:

“He’s lucky to get a brother like you, that was just so beautiful. You are amazing.”

Jake then received three ‘Yeses’ from Amy Shark, Marcia Hines, and Kyle Sandilands.

The judges also rewarded Jake with a Golden Ticket to the Top 30.

Top 30

During the Top 30 week, there were three performance challenges namely; “Chorus Line Challenge”, “Group Challenge”, and “Solo Challenge”.

Part 1

For the “Chorus Line Challenge”, Jake Carlson was in a group with Dylan Wright, Kiani Smith, Amy Reeves, and Bethany Byrne.

He sang “Always Remember Us This Way” by Lady Gaga and the judges told him that he did enough to advance to the second challenge of the Top 30 Week.

Part 2

For the “Group Challenge”, Jake was in a group with Natasha Rose and Jesse Lazaroo.

He sang “Counting Stars” by OneRepublic and advanced to the third and final challenge of the Top 30 Week.

Part 3

For the “Solo Challenge”, Jake performed “Wish You the Best” by Lewis Capaldi and advanced to the Top 21.

Top 21

Jake Carlson performed “Take Me Back” by Noiseworks but was eliminated from the competition and missed out on advancing to the Top 12 finalists.
