Saskia Doran was judge Amy Shark’s wildcard contestant.
Amy hit the road and surprised Saskia with a visit to her home in Perth for an impromptu audition. They then went to Optus Stadium in Burswood so Shark could see if Saskia “has the lungs to fill the space.”
For her audition, Saskia Doran then performed “House Of The Rising Sun” by The Animals.
Saskia’s audition performance impressed judge Amy Shark who gave her a ‘YES’ and also asked her to come to Sydney and meet the other judges (Kyle Sandilands and Marcia Hines).
A few weeks later in Sydney, Saskia went straight to the Australian Idol waiting room where she met other budding singers including Amy Reeves, Tyler Hammill, Natasha Rose, Trent Richardson, Cynthia Negash, and Conor Smith who had all performed in front of the judges earlier on in the day.
At the end of audition day 2, Saskia had a Sing-Off with Cynthia Negash to determine who would receive the Golden Ticket from the judges.
During the Sing-Off, Saskia Doran performed “Stand by Me” by Ben E. King.
