American Idol

Katy Perry first appeared on American Idol as a guest judge during Season 9 on day one of the Los Angeles auditions in 2010.

After fifteen seasons, American Idol aired for its final season on FOX in 2016. ABC then acquired the rights to the show and renewed it for Season 16.

On May 16, 2017, Katy Perry was announced as a judge for Season 16 on ABC. The decision received some criticism after reports emerged that she would possibly earn $25 million for the job.

Since then, Katy Perry has been a judge on every season of the show up to Season 22 which was announced to be her last.
