American Idol
Lionel served as a guest judge during the second week of Season 2 Top 8.
After fifteen seasons, American Idol aired for its final season on FOX in 2016. ABC then acquired the rights to the show and renewed it for Season 16.
On September 29, 2017, it was announced that Lionel Richie would be joining Luke Bryan and Katy Perry as a judge in American Idol Season 16 after ABC acquired rights to the show.
Since then, Lionel has served as a judge on the show to date.
