Today on Sunday, December 13th, 2020, Zama Khumalo has been announced as the Idols SA 2020 ‘Season 16’ winner.

The Idols SA season 16 grand finale kicked off with a stunning performance from this season’s Top 10 contestants who performed Paloma Faith’s empowering song titled ‘Warrior’.

Next on stage was the duo of Nomcebo Zikode and Master KG who further proved that everything they touch turns to gold, they performed their song titled ‘Xola Moya Wami’ which got an incredibly cool outing on the Idols SA stage.

It was now time for our finalists to get up on stage and show us what they’ve got, Zama Khumalo and the Mzansi Gay Choir then made a sweet dream out of Beyoncé’s hit on the live Idols SA stage.

We have got to admit that Zama killed this performance and the Mzansi gay Choir are just phenomenal.

Up next on stage was Mr Music who proved once again that he is the Afro-pop Prince, he and the Mzansi Gay Choir made absolutely sticky magic on the Idols SA stage performing ‘Stimela SaseZola’ by Mbongeni Ngema.

We then witnessed Amapiano meeting Kwaito and maskandi on the Idols SA live stage as Reece Madlisa, Zuma, Mr JazziQ and Busta 929 brought all the Dezemba vibes by performing their hit song ‘JazziDisciples’.

After being performed on Idols SA by Mr Music, Ami Faku was here tonight to perform her soulful stunner ‘Ungowam’.

It is extremely incredible that this week we had more than 29 million votes cast and more than 180 million votes for the entire season.

Congrats to Mbefu Njengempisi, our Idols SA Wooden Mic winner. Conratulations Mbefu njengempisi we guess, to the singer who got the most Wooden Mic votes: Mbefu Njengempisi.

This young lady from Witbank almost did not make Theatre Week at all, and now she has won the entire thing. Zama is absolutely shattered by the love and support that she has received from her fans throughout the whole season.

Zama lit up the hearts of a nation with a voice so undeniably beautiful and pure, we cannot be more proud and excited for everything that is coming her way. Congratulations to Zama Khumalo, well deserved.
