Luyolo Yiba wins Idols SA 2019

After over 186 MILLION votes cast in this Grand Finale week, Luyolo Yiba has been crowned the winner of Idols SA Season 15.

After months of listening to talented young musicians, the Idols SA season 15 grand finale night is finally here and wow what an amazing journey it’s been to get here.

As Mzansi anxiously waited to see who will be a newest music star and instant millionaire, “PREACH what is right, PREACH what is good, PREACH what we want to see in our great nation!”. An utterly beautiful, epic and inspiring opening by our Idols SA season 15 finalists to John Legend’s ‘Preach’.

Meanwhile it was all congratulations to the ‘Waka Waka’ QUEEN, Beatrice who has emerged as our Wooden Mic winner for Idols SA Season 15 (Read more about that Here).

Rethabile Khumalo who happens to be a total package, sexy, confident and fierce then gave us a certified fire performance of ‘Umlilo’ together with DJ Zinhle and Mvzzle.

What a vibe, the Mzansi Gay Choir and the gorgeous, Sneziey Msomi then blew the roof off the arena and got us feeling lifted with ‘Burnout’ by Sipho Mabuse.

Next on stage was Luyolo who got us on our feet with a high-energy take on John Legend’s ‘Greenlight’ alongside the Mzansi Gay Choir.

Up next on the Idols SA live stage was Samthing Soweto, Sha Sha, Nokwazi Kalawa and Dj Maphorisa who got the crowd LIT with a scorching Amapiano medley.

After topping South Africa’s charts, Yanga Sobetwa just reminded us what a tremendous, vocal power house she is with her EPIC, gospel hit, ‘Promised Land’. Now she’s jetting off to Sweden to show off her gifts on a global stage.

It was absolutely heavenly harmonies from Vusi Nova and our Idols SA finalists who just brought us to tears after a phenomenal homage to music’s fallen legends with ‘As’phelelanga’. This man is a national treasure. What soul! What heart! What passion.

It’s too much, Sho Madjozi just proved why she’s hands-down Mzansi’s most fierce performer! That breath control though?

Flow so sick! Boity just made her Idols SA debut and owned the stage like she’s been doing it her whole life with the smash, ‘Wuz Dat’.

So tender, so powerful and so sincere, Sneziey and Luyolo then did such a phenomenal job covering ‘Your Are The Reason’ by Calum Scott and Leona Lewis before the Idols SA season 15 winner was announced.

A true classic man, charming, immensely gifted and gracious to the very end. Congratulations Luyolo Yiba, we are so thrilled about this well-deserved victory.

We would also like to tip our hat to our runner-up, the stunning, Sneziey Msomi for a race well run.
