Hugo Allison is an Australian singer and student from Hobart, Tasmania. He auditioned on The Voice Australia Season 12 in 2023.
He is 18 years old.
This teenage student at The Hutchins School in Tasmania is also an accomplished competitive sailor who has competed in international sailing competitions.
Hugo is also a boating safety ambassador for MAST (Marine and Safety Tasmania).
Having taken singing lessons for over 10 years, Hugo says his style ‘leans more towards pop’, drawing inspiration from artists like Guy Sebastian and Lewis Capaldi.
Despite his passion for singing, he says the choice to audition for The Voice Australia was not an easy one.
“It was my singing teacher who gave me a nudge to audition for it, and I was kind of hesitant about it,” Hugo told ABC Radio.
During the Blind Auditions, Hugo performed “Missing Piece” by Australian singer-songwriter, Vance Joy.
The teenager did not impress the coaches (Jason Derulo, Rita Ora, Guy Sebastian, and Jessica Mauboy) enough and thus did not turn any chairs.
