Gilbere Gassin is an Australian singer and retired police detective from Wollongong, New South Wales. He auditioned on The Voice Australia Season 12 in 2023.

He is 70 years old.

He prefers to sing in French most of the time.

Gilbere was born in Mauritius, a small Island of French heritage in the Indian Ocean.

At the age of 17, he moved to Australia with his parents.

Gilbere is married and has three children, two sons, and a daughter.

Way back during his working years, Gilbere reported on Cyclone Tracey for the Bureau of Meteorology in Darwin, Northern Territory.

Gilbere Gassin attended Charles Sturt University where he obtained a Bachelor of Policing, Criminal Investigations.

Gilbere Gassin worked as a Senior detective – Criminal Investigator, Senior Investigator – Firearms and Organised Crime Squad in the New South Wales police force for 26 years from 1995 until two years ago when he retired.

During the Blind Auditions, Gassin performed “La Vie En Rose” by Édith Piaf.

He did not get any chair turns from coaches Rita Ora, Jessica Mauboy, Guy Sebastian, and Jason Derulo, but they wanted to know what the secret was to his youthful appearance.

“Red wine and some nice cheese,” Gilbere replied.

Before he left the stage, the former police officer gifted female coaches Rita Ora and Jessica Mauboy, long-stemmed red roses.
