Heinz Winckler – Season 1
24-year-old Heinz Winckler won Idols SA Season 1 on Monday 17 June 2002 following a breathtaking grand finale show that took place at Vodaworld.

As the winner of the very first season of Idols South Africa, Heinz Winckler received a prize package that included a flashy new Toyota MR-2 sports car, a recording contract with Sony BMG Records, a management deal with Marcus Brewster Celebrity, and R20,000 in cash from Steers.
Anke Pietrangeli – Season 2
Twenty-year-old Anke Pietrangeli won Idols SA Season 2 on Monday 20 October 2003 in a grand finale that took place at Gold Reef City Hippodrome Theatre.

Twenty-six-year-old Karin Kortje won Idols SA Season 3 on Sunday 27 November 2005 with the grand finale taking place at Gold Reef City in Johannesburg.

Jody Williams – Season 4
Seventeen-year-old Jody Williams won Idols SA Season 4 on Sunday 9 December 2007 at Ellis Park Stadium in Johannesburg.

Sasha-Lee Davids and Jason Hartman – Season 5
18-year-old Sasha-Lee Davids and 29-year-old Jason Hartman won Idols SA Season 5 following a live grand finale that took place on Sunday 3 May 2009 at the Mosaïek Teatro auditorium in Fairland, Johannesburg.

30-year-old Elvis Blue whose real name is Jan Hoogendyk and comes from George in the Western Cape, won Idols SA Season 6 and was declared the winner on Tuesday 2 November 2010.

- A recording contract from Universal Music
- A brand new Ford Figo car
- R500,000 in cash (Elvis shared his prize money and gave R250,000 to runner-up Lloyd Cele)

Dave van Vuuren – Season 7
21-year-old Dave van Vuuren from Cape Town won Idols SA Season 7 on Tuesday 4 October 2011 following a grand finale that took place at Mosaïek Teatro in Fairlands, Johannesburg.

25-year-old Khaya Mthethwa won Idols SA Season 8 on Tuesday 2 October 2012 at the Grand Finale results show that was held at the Mosaïek Teatro in Fairland, Johannesburg.

Khaya Mthethwa won a prize package worth almost a million Rand, consisting of;

- A Ford Fiesta 1.6 Titanium car
- R250,000 in cash from KFC

Noma Khumalo – Season 12
22-year-old Noma Khumalo from Pietermaritzburg won Idols SA Season 12 on Sunday 27 November 2016 at Carnival City in Johannesburg becoming the first female winner in a span of seven seasons.

Noma Khumalo won a prize package worth R1.2 million and a recording contract with Gallo Record Company.
Paxton Fielies – Season 13
17-year-old Paxton Fielies from Bishops Lavis, Cape Town, won Idols SA Season 13 on Sunday 19 November 2017 at the grand finale that took place at Carnival City in Johannesburg.
