The Idols SA 2022 (Season 18) Top 9 contestants have been revealed today on Sunday 18 September 2022 during episode 10 of the season.
The lights were closed, your votes are ready and your decision was made.
Your Top 10 contestants gave you Soul but only nine contestants won your support and your votes have made the cut this Sunday.
Unfortunately, Lerato Matsabu’s journey on Idols SA Season 18 came to an end as she couldn’t secure enough votes from the voting public to push her into the Top 9.
We are sad to say goodbye, however, we wish Lerato all the best in her future endeavors.

Idols SA 2022 Top 9 Performance

All the songs that have been performed this Sunday fall under this week’s theme which is “South African classics”.
Noxolo was the first contestant to be announced among the Idols SA Season Top 9 this evening.
She then brought the magic to Joe Mafela’s hit song “Shebeleza” to the extent that we could not stop dancing.
“Bra Joe would be so proud.” judge Somizi Mhlongo was impressed by Noxolo’s live performance.
After making it into the Top 9, Kabelo serenaded us with Ringo Madlingozi’s all-time classic “Ekuseni”.
“I’m happy to see you become more and more comfortable!” Judge Thembi Seete was happy to see Kabelo’s growth with his Idols SA live performances.
Mpilwenhle left no stone unturned with her live performance of “Nomalanga” by Caiphus Semenya.
“Jy gaan ver!” Somizi Mhlongo believes Mpilwenhle is going far with the Idols SA competition.
Ceejay brought the Idols South Africa swing to Hugh Masekela’s iconic hit, “Send Me”.
“You always bring it on,” Ceejay’s versatility as a singer and rapper impressed judge Thembi Seete.
23-year-old Tesmin-Robyn delivered an amazing live performance of “Siyaya Phambili” by Stimela.
Judge Somizi Mhlongo complemented Tesmin-Robyn as he liked what he heard from her today, he said.

What a throwback it was, Ty Loner’s performance of “Scatterlings Of Africa” by Johnny Clegg and Juluka stirred some nostalgia.
“As you were singing, I could see the stars.” Thembi Seete said of Ty Loner’s live performance this Sunday.
With her performance of “Nizalwa Ngobani” by Thandiswa Mazwai, Nozi has made it to the Top 9 of Idols South Africa Season 18.
“Every week I wonder what Nozi will do,” Thembi Seete said Nozi’s live performances always impress her.
It was a huge relief to Thapelo’s fans when his name was finally announced among the Top 9.
He then performed his own rendition of “Papa” by Sankomota.
Judge JR was sold with Thapelo’s live performance tonight and below were his remarks.
If you told me to go buy you some underwear, I would.
Zee brought it all tonight with a fantastic performance of Brenda Fassie’s hit song, “Mama I’m Sorry”.
“I think you are super talented,” Somizi Mhlongo believes there is something special about Zee’s sonorous voice.
