Top 8 Contestants of Idols SA 2022 (Season 18)

The Idols SA 2022 (Season 18) Top 8 contestants have been announced today on Sunday 25 September 2022 during episode 11 of the season.

Last week on Sunday 18 September 2022 during episode 10 of Idols SA Season 18, the Top 9 contestants performed songs under the theme, “South African classics”.

The Idols SA 2022 Top 8 contestants are; Nozi, Ceejay, Zee, Kabelo, Ty Loner, Thapelo, Mpilwenhle and Noxolo.

On a sad note, today we said goodbye to Tesmin-Robyn Khanye who did not make it into the Idols SA Season 18 Top 8.

We will definitely hear from Tesmin-Robyn in the future, no doubt.

Nozi

Nozi delivered a great live performance of “The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face” by Roberta Flack.

Judge JR was impressed by Nozi’s performance, he said he thinks Nozi is going to be one of the future’s brightest stars.

“That delivery is what stars are made of,” JR further stated.

Ceejay

Ceejay performed “Mas’thokoze” by Mafikizolo with the hope of getting into the Idols SA Season 18 Top 7.

“You impressed me,” Judge Thembi was impressed with how Ceejay performed today.

Zee

Zee performed her own rendition of the classic “I Can’t Help) Falling in Love with You” by UB40.

“I have been waiting for this moment all my life,” JR was blown away by Zee’s live performance.

Kabelo

Kabelo performed his own rendition of “Here and Now” by Luther Vandross.

The judges were hoping for more from Kabelo with his live performance today, but it is your votes that will decide his fate on Idols SA Season 18.

Ty Loner

Ty Loner delivered a wonderful performance of “Can You Stand the Rain” by New Edition.

“Even if you don’t win this competition, you are going to be fine.” Judge Thembi thinks Ty Loner will make it if he keeps up the good work.

Thapelo

Thapelo wowed the crowd with his live performance of “Let It Be” by The Beatles.

“Thank you very much for the talent that you are.” Judge JR clearly liked having Thapelo on Idols SA live stage this evening.

Mpilwenhle

Mpilwenhle performed her own rendition of “Hero” by Mariah Carey.

“Perfection!” One word is all it takes. Somizi Mhlongo was blown away by Mpilwenhle’s live performance today.

Noxolo

Noxolo performed “Miss You Like Crazy” by Natalie Cole.

You need to vote for Noxolo if you want her to be among the Top 7 next Sunday.
