Kabelo Makhetha is a South African vocalist, songwriter and music producer from Pietermaritzburg, KwaZulu-Natal. He is a Top 12 contestant on Idols SA Season 18 in 2022.
Kabelo Makhetha is also a qualified sound engineer and qualified IT technician. He currently lives in Johannesburg.

Kabelo Makhetha is not new to the Idols South Africa stage, he previously entered in Idols SA Season 16 where he was eliminated during the group stages.
Kabelo’s musical journey started at 15 when he and his twin brother learned how to play the guitar and keyboard through YouTube videos.
This self-taught musician describes himself as ambitious, and admits to being reserved, but says he is looking forward to “bringing it” on stage.
Kabelo Makhetha writes his own songs and also plays multiple musical instruments.
The Pietermaritzburg native listens to a lot of hip-hop music (naming Drake as one of his musical heroes).
Kabelo further says that Michael Jackson and Mi Casa have had an influence on his music.
During the Idols SA live shows, Kabelo Makhetha hopes to beat the nerves and articulate the emotions of each song without holding back.
“I also want to connect with the crowd. My aim is to give it my all every Sunday and to have fun too,” he further states.
