The Idols SA viewership has plummented a bit as compared to the previous seasons.
Idols SA Viewership
Viewership of the first month of Idols SA Season 18 has been a lukewarm affair.
We are talking about the period between the Season’s premiere, Sunday 17 July 2022, to Wednesday August 17, 2022.
The introduction of new judges, JR Bogopa and Thembi Seete and the return of judge Somizi Mhlongo seems to have not lured disinterested viewers back.
Idols SA Season 18 peaked at 744,000 viewers during July, a very big difference from debut months of the past seasons.
To be fair, viewership (ratings) have dropped for most South African TV shows, especially those that have been around for a while.
That said, the failure of Idols South Africa to recover its over a million viewers per episode streak is significant.
How many people watch Idols SA?
Approximately 744,000 people watch Idols SA as of August 2022.
