Idols SA 2018 Season 14 Top 4 contestants

Our Idols SA 2018 top 4 contestants have been revealed during today’s live show.

The talented dude from Postmasburg, Northern Cape Thato was the contestant whose name was called first by show presenter ProVerb to have made it to the top 4. Not only did Thato carry us home, he took us to the heavens with a soul-moving opening performance alongside the Soweto Gospel choir.

Next to be called was beauty queen Thando, she and Soweto Gospel choir then touched us with a spirit shaking performance, it really doesn’t get more special than this. Thando did absolute justice to Soweto gospel’s very own ‘Ke Na Le Modisa.

The third contestant to be announced among the top 4 was Yanga, a teenage sensation from Cape Town. For sure avulekile amasango, Yanga beautifully delivered an age-old classic with the Soweto gospel for her first performance of the evening.

And with just one top 4 spot remaining, two contestants Niyaaz and King B were praying as they patiently waited for ProVerb to announce who between them was packing his bags.

And sadly it was the end of the road for Top 5 finalist, Niyaaz Arendse who comes Cape Town. And having made it to the top 4, King B then brought people to tears with a blessed and anointed rendition of ‘Lion of Judah’ for his first performance of the evening.

And with our top 4 contestants now known, Dr Rebecca Malope and the Soweto gospel choir took to the Idols SA live stage to perform. Well they didn’t disappoint as we came to realise why they’re Mzansi’s beloved stars after blessing us with an electric performance.

It was now time for our top 4 contestants to make their second performances of the evening.

Yes-o, Thato gave us a Naija flavour as he perfectly performed Davido’s smash hit ‘If’.

Next on stage was Thando and it almost seemed like she wrote the song herself, Thando totally owned that performance of Naima Kay’s song ‘Thando’.

The came Yanga who was emotionally charged and absolutely mesmerising as she completely slayed her performance of ‘Impilo’ by Sjava.

And lastly came the star from Kagiso, Gauteng. His name is King B and the ‘b’ is for BANG, he gave a beautiful rendition of ‘Kahle’ by Idols alumni Amanda Black.
