Paxton Fielies to sing for the queen of Sweden

Following her victory on Idols SA Season 13 last year, it's very evident that Paxton Fielies schedule is jam-packed balancing both her studies and music career.

Speaking to DJ Fresh in an interview with Metro FM, the pint-sized singer says one of her priorities in the new year is being an international artist and producing more tunes.

“I would love to go international, ASAP. I’m busy working on my first album, I am going to Sweden, I’ve been invited by the queen there,” Paxton revealed.

The 17-year-old also revealed that she wants to give equal attention to her studies and singing as it’s a make-or-break year for her.

“I am going to see my principal in the week, I need to find out what the plan is forward, but we’re definitely gonna work around my gigs and shows because this is a busy year for me,” the teen said.

In addition to the title of Idols SA winner, Paxton got some serious cash too.

“I’m really proud of myself. It’s something I’ve wanted, it’s very rewarding to be given. I save because I have so much money and I don’t know what to do with it yet, there are a lot of things I want to do with that money in future,” she said.

Mthokozisi Ndaba writes tribute song to Robbie Malinga

Idols SA season 13 runner-up Mthokozisi Ndaba has written a tribute song to the late Robbie Malinga titled Uzungakhali (Don't cry).

Mthokozisi was soon recording song(s) with Robbie Malinga before the music veteran's death on Christmas day, and has now instead released a tribute song to the late musician to honour him.

Mthokozisi wrote the song, Uzungakhali (Don't cry), for his mentor this week and plans to release it to radio stations and on free online music services ahead of Robbie's memorial later today.

"It is a message to South Africa to not cry but to celebrate what Robbie has done for us and African music. Even though it is painful, he is telling South Africa that they must not be upset and he will try to comfort them and step into Robbie's shoes," Mthokozisi's manager and friend Lwazi "Mlwazet" Mdladla revealed.

Lwazi said that Robbie had approached Mthokozisi to record a single due for release in February next year.

"Robbie knew about Mthokozisi even before Idols and he said that he wanted to work with him. After Idols he said again that he wanted to work with him. We were busy setting up a studio session before Robbie died and if we had known we would have organised it earlier to get the recording done in time."

Lwazi further revealed that Mthokozisi was struggling to come to terms with Robbie's death.

"He was shocked at the news. For him it feels like everything he is trying to do is not coming right. He thought that he was going to win Idols and he was hurt (after he lost). We told him that he still had a bright future and could still look forward to recording with Robbie. Now he can't do the song anymore. He is taking it hard but he is getting professional help to deal with everything. It was hard for him because Robbie was like a musical father to him".

Mthokozisi uploaded a series of videos Instagram on Thursday in tribute to Robbie Malinga.

Idols SA pair Christo and Phindy are deeply in love [Photos]

Former Idols SA 2017 pair Phindile Dube and Christo Daniels are deeply in love and they just make a really cute couple.

Christo (21) and Phindy (19) might have lost the Idols SA title after they were voted out of the competition but they decided to have walk away with another prize which is even bigger, love.

Many of their fans have been asking these two former Idols SA contestants whether they're indeed dating and Phindy decided to take them out of their misery. She posted multiple "silly" snaps of her and her beau with a cute caption and declaration of her love.

"My MCE (Man Crush Everyday). I have a picture for each day of the week and a bonus. @christodaniels you keep me smiling like a lunatic even on rainy days. I walked into a competition and left with prizes‚ but my favourite prize has to be your heart."
The pair were visibly close on the show and posted pictures of each other with cute captions back when their love was nothing but a rumour.

However‚ soon after the competition ended‚ they became more and more open about their relationship.
In fact, Phindy's "best fraaandship" with Christo is the cutest thing ever we've seen since the pair exited Idols SA 2017 and the snaps they keep sharing have us all the way in our feels.

All this comes after the woman started claiming that Mthokozisi physically assaulted her in a bar.

The woman says she lost a tooth in the violent attack.

"You brutally abused me. I don't deserve to be beaten up like this by a stranger that I have never even wronged. Why? Why did you do this to me? You will run but you will never hide," she wrote on Instagram whilst sharing two photos showing her battered face. (The victim’s account has since been made private).

The police is investigating a claim of physical assault after a charge was laid by the 21-year-old victim.

The victim, who on Saturday shared photos of her battered and bruised face, claims the 25-year-old Mthokozisi opened a bottle of vodka and after an argument ensued, started to hit her and then slammed her into a wall. She also lost a tooth during the incident. She claims that Ndaba then ran away.

Mzansi Magic spokesperson, Nondumiso Mabece, told Channel24 they have been unable to reach the star that exhibited bad behaviour since Sunday when he lost against Paxton Fielies and flew back to Durban on Saturday afternoon.

"Mzansi Magic and Idols are aware of social media posts of an alleged incident that took place on 24 November.

"We have however, been unable to make contact with Mthokozisi Ndaba, who has travelled back to KwaZulu-Natal. Mzansi Magic and Idols condemn any act of abuse," the M-Net run channel said.

“I’m not a sore loser”, says Mthokozisi Ndaba

Idols SA season 13 runner-up Mthokozisi Ndaba has dismissed claims he was not coping well, and thanked South Africans for their support.

Mthokozisi has come out and set the record straight on his absense after the grand finale.

After losing the Idols SA title to 17-year-old Paxton Fielies on Sunday night, Mthokozisi stormed off stage and failed to attend a post-show interview. He is also reportedly getting help to deal with the emotions of losing.

The 25-year-old shared a video on Instagram in which he said he is “happy for Paxton”, and thanked everyone who voted for him.

Mthokozisi released a statement on Tuesday, explaining his absence at the press conference and dismissing claims that he was a sore loser, as he did not congratulate Paxton.

Read the statement below:

I would firstly like to take this opportunity and apologize to all media houses for my absence at the press conference after the announcement of the Idols winner of 2017. This was unplanned and unforeseen as I had prepared myself for the results going either way. It was a moment of weakness since I had wanted and needed this so badly not just for me but for my family.

I had planned to dedicate the win to my late parents and my late son, and at that moment I felt like I had let them down. I guess I let being human get the better of me.

I would also like to take this moment and dismiss the claims that I didn’t congratulate the winner of Idols 2017 Miss Paxton Fieles. This is absolutely false and it is in not in my nature to not wish another person well.

The other contestants from the top ten came to wish her well and as required, I had to move from the stage and allow her to celebrate her moment of glory. This was in no way a sign of being a sore loser.

I sent out a video congratulating Paxton on her win. Paxton is a deserving winner and I know how much effort and work she had put in every week to perfecting her craft. It was a great honour for me to share the stage with her and all the finalists.

To all the people in South Africa and across the world who believed in me and voted for me, words will never be enough to express how grateful I am so I will just put it in a song. Thank you for downloading Masithandane and making it number one on iTunes. And to the radio stations that are playing it, I am beyond thankful.

My entire focus now is on producing great music that people can listen to, and they can love and appreciate. I will not limit myself to anything; as a creative I am using this time to explore the music and entertainment industry, and all the possibilities that are out there for me.

The best decision I ever made was auditioning for Idols, it has truly changed my life for the better. Once again, I thank you for all your love and support. God bless you all.
